Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) was established at SYED AMMAL ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE , Kootampuli, Ramanathapuram in Feb, 2018. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC should be a part of the institution’s system and work towards realizing the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance. It is conceived as a mechanism to build and ensure quality in the institution. It has a specific structure and works with enough flexibility to meet the diverse needs of the stakeholders.

Objectives:

* To develop a quality system for conscious, consistent and catalytic programmed action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the Institution.
* To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.

2023-2024

Our institution stands out for its unwavering commitment to supporting students both academically and financially. This year, the college extended fee concessions under the management scheme to 258 undergraduate and postgraduate students, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder access to quality education. This initiative highlights the college’s dedication to inclusivity and its effort to nurture talent across diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. In addition to financial support, the college has consistently excelled in academic performance. This year, 61 of our students secured university ranks, including 7 gold medalists. The number of rank holders from our institution is significantly higher compared to other colleges affiliated with Alagappa University. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the college’s academic rigor, student-centric teaching methodologies, and the tireless efforts of our faculty. Our consistent track record of producing more university rank holders year after year underscores the institution’s distinctiveness and commitment to excellence. By fostering an environment that combines academic brilliance with financial inclusivity, the college continues to uphold its vision of shaping students into capable, responsible, and accomplished individuals who contribute positively to society.

2022-2023

Syed Ammal Arts and Science College is dedicated to catering to the distinctive educational needs of the underprivileged rural community in Ramanathapuram District. Our primary focus is on providing targeted, job-oriented courses and skill programs. This academic year, we take pride in the introduction of a new postgraduate program M.Sc. Microbiology at our esteemed institution. Enrolling a commendable 918 students with 544 females and 374 males in the first year of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. We actively strive to minimize dropouts by granting fee concessions to nearly 370 students. In our commitment to facilitating easy access to education, we operate a fleet of over 50 buses for student transportation. Embracing innovative teaching methodologies including WhatsApp, YouTube channels, ICT-enabled classes, quizzes, seminars, and conferences have yielded remarkable results. Our efforts have resulted in 35 university ranks, with 6 gold medalists showcasing the efficacy of our approach. Furthermore, three faculty members achieved their Ph.D. degrees during this academic year. The active participation of both students and faculty in seminars and conferences underscores our commitment to cultivating a dynamic learning environment and remaining at the forefront of academic excellence.

2021-2022

Faculties of our college are using separate ICT enabled classrooms. All the departments are regularly conducting Inter College state level , National and International level seminars, conferences, orientation programme, symposium and workshops. The students of our college belonging to different departments are participating the other colleges and universities in the national and international workshop and seminars. Many of our students have received medals and awards in presenting their papers similarly many faculty members of our college are regularly attending the national international level seminars organized by the other colleges and the universities. Several job opportunities are being provided to the student’s .Job Training is given regularly to the students. Many students continue their higher education after finishing their degree and they have joined in the other colleges and in the universities to continue the higher studies Our college is having the admissions strength of nearly 2700 students, since the institution is providing all the academic facilities such as sophisticated lab with latest equipments and very good laboratories separately for UG and PG students.

2020-2021

The distinctiveness of our college is the maintenance of quality of education. In this area, people are having huge respect on this Institution because of the quality of education with discipline. Hence the parents are willing to admit their children in this Institution for getting higher education and so the admission strength of our college increasing every year. In order to uplift the standard of education, the teaching new methodologies such as PPT presentation, ICT mode of teaching and group discussions are being implemented in all the faculties, More over to enhance the quality of education, all the staff and students are allowed to participate in the inter collegiate and university level seminars, workshops and FDP programmes. All the faculties are permitted to conduct state level and National level and international level seminars by inviting eminent resource persons of different field of specialization. Since we are maintaining the quality of education our students can easily get more number of University ranks. Due to the maintenance of quality of education, 38 students have been employed during the academic year 2020-2021 and 177 students from different faculties have joined in higher education.
